Biography

The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation works to bridge gaps between science, policy, management and action in order to conserve nature and accelerate the transition towards sustainable development in the Mediterranean.

The main strategic lines of IUCN-Med aim to address biodiversity loss and climate change impacts through innovative and targeted initiatives represented in the following six working areas and key topics:

  • Biodiversity Knowledge and Action
  • Ecosystem Resilience and Spatial Planning
  • Marine Biodiversity and Blue Economy
  • Nature-based Solutions and Climate Change
  • Nature Conservation and Food Systems
  • Regional Focus: North Africa
